Yes, there is a fast growing demand for Software testing done remotely/from home and many companies are looking for professionals who are willing to do that. You can find information about this on Google by searching “freelance testing”. Having said that, the majority of Software Testing positions are still in traditional work places (company office). The current trend in the IT Industry is so-called “telecommuting,” where the software tester works regularly at the office, but is also permitted to work from home a couple days a week.
